There are four primary investment categories, namely Cash, Bonds, Property and Equities.

Cash incorporates both fixed, for terms of 1 to 5 years, and variable interest bearing bank and building society deposit accounts as well as National Savings.

Bonds incorporate ‘fixed interest securities’ predominantly in the form of Gilts and Corporate Bonds.

Property incorporates holdings in unitised funds investing, predominantly, in direct commercial property rather than residential.

Equities incorporate shares using collective, managed, investments such as unit trusts, open ended investment companies (O.E.I.Cs) and investment trusts.

The personalised report will detail in what proportion these asset classes should be utilised to try to achieve the client’s objectives and consideration will be given to both ‘active’ and ‘passive’ investment styles.  This will be within an agreed level of risk with the capital required to provide investment income being invested at low or very low levels of risk, as we fully appreciate that these are your life savings.

The value of investments within bonds, property and equities, and income from them, can fluctuate (this may partially be the result of exchange rate fluctuations) and investors might not get back the full amount invested.  Past performance is not a guide to future performance.
